Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones Receives Clear Message From Fans at Texas-Ohio State Game

The Texas Longhorns didn’t have to travel far for their College Football Playoff semifinal game against the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Just a three-hour drive north of Austin, TX, the Longhorns had what could be considered a home game as the Cotton Bowl was held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, home of the NFL team, the Dallas Cowboys.

Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones was in attendance for the Cotton Bowl on Friday night. However, following a disappointing NFL season for the Cowboys, many fans have had enough of the 82-year-old. Especially after he insisted he was “all-in” during the 2024 offseason yet didn’t make any significant moves to improve his roster.

With that being said, once the giant jumbotron in the middle of AT&T Stadium showed Jones watching the Texas-Ohio State game from his suite, the crowd littered the longtime Cowboys owner with boos.

College football fans were quick to point out the message that both Texas and Ohio State fans had for Jones, taking to social media to leave their proof and reactions.

“Jerry Jones was shown on the video board at AT&T Stadium. He was booed,” one fan said.

“The crowd just booed Jerry Jones when showed on the video board,” added another.

“Jerry Jones is show on the jumbotron to big boos by the crowd,” wrote a third.

“Jerry Jones booed when he’s shown on the big screen in his own house. Rough,” commented a fourth.

“Jerry Jones was just loudly booed when shown on the big screen during a TV timeout at the Cotton Bowl,” posted a fifth.

“Everybody booing Jerry Jones when we comes on the Jumbotron >>>,” added a sixth.

Jones purchased the Cowboys back in 1989, and one of his first decisions was to hire Jimmy Johnson as the head coach. After winning three Super Bowls in four seasons during the early 1990s (under Johnson in 1992 and 1993 seasons and under Barry Switzer in 1995 season), Dallas has failed to make any meaningful run in the playoffs, and Cowboys fans have been frustrated with the owner for quite some time.

The Cotton Bowl is one of the few major non-NFL sporting events AT&T Stadium has hosted. In the past couple of months, it has also held the Big 12 Championship Game between the Arizona State Sun Devils and the Iowa State Cyclones. It also helped the popular boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson.
