The transfer portal has taken, now it’s given back to Arkansas football
The last week was as hectic and drama-filled as any in recent memory. With 27 players in the portal, the Hogs had the most entries in the first 48 hours. Of course, that’s just scratching the surface.
Last week, Arkansas had three former hogs defect to Ole Miss. Rumors of tampering ran rampant, former teammates turned on each other on social media, and Lane Kiffin retweeted a joke calling Arkansas Ole Miss’ farm team when the Rebels stole three Arkansas starters.
With all the bad news, the Razorbacks received their fair share of transfers too. The first and biggest (literally) transfer to call the Hogs was Jac’Qawn McRoy. The 6-foo-8-inch, 375-pound freshman came to Arkansas from Oregon after only one season.
Wide receiver Raylen Sharpe from Fresno State, cornerback Kani Walker from Oklahoma, and Ken Talley from Michigan State all chose the Razorbacks, and Northwest Mississippi Community College CB Keshawn Davila also committed to Arkansas. But he technically counts in the 2025 recruiting class.

To continue the drama, rising star Braylen Russell entered the transfer portal, returned, and left again all since Monday.
When the report surfaced that he was entering for the first time, the talented freshman confirmed he wasn’t leaving but left a few hours later. It was a complete mess, but now, he’s burned every bridge in Arkansas on his way out the second time.
