Rams Use Dan Campbell Quote as Fuel Ahead of NFL Playoffs Showdown Vs. Vikings

The Los Angeles Rams are preparing to face coach Kevin O’Connell’s Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night in round one of the NFL Playoffs at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

The game was moved from Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium amid wildfire concerns, and will pit former Super Bowl winner Matthew Stafford and the Rams against Sam Darnold and the Vikings.

The Vikings are coming off of a 31-9 loss at the hands of the Detroit Lions that gave Detroit the NFC North title, sealing coach O’Connell’s team’s round one playoff fate.

On Friday, it was revealed that the Rams are using a postgame quote from Lions coach Dan Campbell as motivation ahead of their showdown with the Vikings.

“There’s a printed screen shot in the Rams locker room above a door of Dan Campbell telling Kevin O’Connell ‘I’ll see you in two weeks,'” reporter Jourdan Rodriguez revealed on his X account Friday.

Rodriguez revealed further intel as well.

“Also, as per playoff tradition established in 2021 by Von Miller, a Lombardi Trophy replica is on the training table in the locker room, with a written message that it represents ‘football heaven.'”

Miller played one season with the Rams before joining the Bills in 2022.

“Dan literally just got done blowing out a division rival who he respects,” one reader wrote in response. “Rams are completely making too much of this. This makes me think that they’re going to lose.”

Another reader used a classic Michael Jordan meme to describe Rams coach Sean McVay‘s alleged mindset in propagating the quote prior to game time.

“Yeah okay. It was never a dig at the Rams. Just respect for KOC and Minnesota,” another fan wrote in response.
