Kevin Durant’s Savage Five-Word Post Against Lions is Going Viral

When Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant visited the training camp of the Washington Commanders before the season, he probably knew that the team would be special.

On Saturday, Durant celebrated with the Commanders after their improbable victory against the top-seeded Detroit Lions in the divisional playoffs, 45-31.

The Suns forward was born in Washington, DC and has been a proud supporter of the Commanders. The massive win over the Lions was extra sweet for Durant, as he had the last laugh against Detroit running back Jahmyr Gibbs.

After scoring a touchdown in the first quarter, Gibbs mocked Durant with the latter’s infamous pregame dance. The two-time Finals MVP then posted on X that he was “already sick” of Gibbs.

The 36-year-old Durant later posted a video of him doing his trademark pregame dance on X and wrote: “Have a great night, Detroit.”

Ah, when the schadenfreude hits.

Durant’s post has gone viral, with 5.1 million views, as of writing. The coincidence that the Suns also beat the Detroit Pistons on Saturday, 125-121, wasn’t lost on the fans.

“Gave them 2 L’s tonight,” said a fan.

“You’re such a troll Big bro,” added an X user.

“What a BURN!” wrote another fan.

Durant, however, also didn’t escape the wrath of his haters, who pointed out his issues in the NBA.

“KD might finally win a real ring, and it won’t even be his,” said a fan.

“U requesting a trade to the Commanders now?” added a sports account.

“Commanders won’t win it all and we’ll be saying the same to u when u don’t either,” commented another fan.

The Commanders, led by star quarterback Jayden Daniels, shimmied their way to the NFC Finals for the first time since winning the Super Bowl title in 1992.

Detroit didn’t have a great night.
