Everton’s transfer business is now starting to really heat up, and Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has shared the latest on one of the Toffees’ reported targets.
It’s been a hectic start to the summer at Goodison Park, with Aston Villa midfielder Tim Iroegbunam already coming through the door.
Former Sheffield United striker and long-term target Iliman Ndiaye is also nearing his move to Merseyside.
Elsewhere, Newcastle United’s unknown winger Yankuba Minteh is reportedly eager to join the Toffees despite a host of clubs chasing his signature.
Armando Broja to Everton latest
Another player linked with a move to Merseyside is Chelsea’s Armando Broja.
Everton, Leicester City, and an unknown Premier League club are believed to be interested in the 22-year-old Albanian.
Romano, speaking in his latest YouTube video, has reiterated that several clubs are interested.
Furthermore, the Italian journalist has suggested this weekend could be crucial with financial fair play regulations closing in.
“Keep a close eye on Armando Broja because I am hearing there is interest of several clubs,” said Romano. “In the last 24 – 48 hours, clubs like Everton and also others started moving around Armando Broja, so there could be movement around him in the weekend. We know for financial fair play, it is a crucial weekend for many clubs.”
Per a report from The Athletic, Broja is believed to be valued at £30million by Chelsea at present.
Armando Broja still searching for 2021/22 form
Broja has had to deal with rotten luck on the injury front in recent years. During the 2022 World Cup winter break, the Albanian suffered an ACL injury, which would put his career on hold.
Having just returned to Chelsea after an impressive loan spell at Southampton, the issue couldn’t have happened at a worse time.
Since then, Broja has struggled to regain the form he showed at St Mary’s, where he scored nine goals in 38 appearances.
Having failed to really stake a claim at Stamford Bridge, the 22-year-old was loaned out to Fulham last season, where he also struggled.
For Everton, signing the Albanian could be a risk, but if he can return to his previous self, this could prove a shrewd piece of business.
