The Boston Bruins are indeed going all in on free-agency as GM Don Sweeney has been aggressively pursuing multiple avenues to upgrade the Bruins lineup.
One player the Bruins are coveting is the Winnipeg Jets Rutger McGroarty, who is projected to develop into a top-six talent for any team which acquires him.

The Bruins have already been linked to the Jets prospect according to the Winnipeg Free Press’ own Mike McinTyre
Another team to keep an eye on when it comes to Rutger McGroarty: The Boston Bruins.
Hearing tonight they’ve had ongoing talks with the #NHLJets. We’ll see if this goes anywhere.
Was told earlier today from a source Buffalo, Columbus, NY Islanders have also checked in.
The Bruins prospect pool lacks important depth and it’s understandable why they’d be all in on McGroarty.
If Don Sweeney can pull this off, he will end up being the Bruins’ best prospect. McGroarty’s skillset would be a welcome addition to Boston, being a highly skilled and gritty forward.
He has earned praise for his leadership skills at the 2024 World Junior Championships recently.
