Charlie McAvoy issued an emotional goodbye on social media and it’s officially over.
Not long after the announcement of Boston Bruins players Jake DeBrusk and Matt Grzelcyk signing with other teams did Charlie McAvoy take to social media to issue a goodbye to both of them.
McAvoy wished both of them well with their new teams in an emotional goodbye and said he never took any time with them for granted.
«My day one’s right here,» McAvoy wrote. «From 2017 to now, I can’t believe how fast time flies. Never took for granted getting the chance to play with two of my best friends,» the post read. «This game brings so many people into your life and although that may not last forever, the friendships always do. Grateful for all the memories that will last a lifetime. I know you both with do incredible things in this next chapter! Two incredible bruins 💔 #Bino #GeorgeThanos @matt.grzelcyk @jdebrusk»
Grzelcyk, DeBrusk and McAvoy have been playing together for the last seven-years and all went on a Stanley Cup run in 2019, where they would ultimately lose to the St. Louis Blues.
Both McAvoy and Grzelcyk played together before playing with each other in the NHL as in 2015-16 they played together at Boston University.
Jake DeBrusk signed a 7-year $5.5 million deal with the Vancouver Canucks where Grzelcyk signed a one-year, $2.75 million deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
