Jake DeBrusk took a shot at the Boston Bruins after letting him walk in free agency.
The Boston Bruins and Vancouver Canucks both ended up making some splashes during free agency, and both teams saw players from the other team sign with them.
The Canucks lost both Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov to the Boston Bruins, and the Bruins lost Danton Heinen, Jake DeBrusk and Derek Forbort who all went and signed with the Canucks.
Jake DeBrusk was one of the bigger moves made for the Vancouver Canucks as their general manager Patrik Allvin revealed the Canucks signed DeBrusk to a seven-year $5.5 million AAV or $38.5 million total.
There were a lot of teams rumoured to be interested in signing Jake DeBrusk after the Bruins made it clear at the Draft they haven’t made any progress with him in contract talks.
Jake DeBrusk took a shot at the Bruins after signing with the Canucks stating that he wanted to go to a team that has a chance to win, take a look:
“I wanted to go to a team that could win, and I’m very lucky that they wanted me.” DeBrusk said.
The Vancouver Canucks and Boston Bruins both made it to the second-round in the playoffs, and finished tied with the same amount of points in the regular-season with 109 points.
Would be interesting to see these two teams make it to the Stanley Cup Finals again and see who the better team really is.
Best of luck to DeBrusk with his new team!
