With the Lakers down Gabe Vincent, Jalen Hood-Schifino and Jarred Vanderbilt against the Philadelphia 76ers, James moved up the depth chart. Receiving his first rotation minutes since opening night against the Minnesota Timberwolves, James had a rough first stint.
Playing four minutes and 33 seconds in the first quarter, James missed his only field goal attempt while recording one turnover. The Lakers were outscored by nine points in his minutes, which had a lot to do with 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey scoring multiple times over James.
