Celtics sign veteran forward after being waived by former team

The Boston Celtics have just signed Torrey Craig, per ESPN’s Shams Charania. Craig was waived by the Chicago Bulls after they participated in a three-team trade, sending Zach Lavine to the Sacramento Kings.

For the Bulls, Craig was a valuable bench piece. He averaged seven points, three rebounds, and 43% from deep. He did this in nine games, averaging about 13 minutes per game.

This is a huge signing for the Celtics, at least as huge as they can do. Due to their insane payroll, it’s hard for the C’s to find someone good with the money they have left. Craig was the perfect choice.

Craig fills the need of wing depth, which as of now includes him, Jaylen Brown, and Sam Hauser. Craig’s amazing ability to shoot the deep ball will also be loved by the C’s, who’s favorite way to score is from the three-point line.

Hopefully this is the move the Celtics needed to get out of their .500 slump, and prepare for an expected Eastern Conference Finals war against the upgraded Cleveland Cavaliers.
