Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby described perfectly what the vibes are like back at headquarters now
Maxx Crosby has seen a lot of different things with the Las Vegas Raiders. His rookie year was in Oakland, the last year the Raiders played at the Coliseum. So, he’s seen that move and that change. But, he’s also seen four head coaches when counting the interim head coach Rich Bisaccia, and that’s four coaches since 2019. That’s not a good thing at all.
And, you can imagine that has taken somewhat of a toll on Crosby and his mentality toward being on the team long term. The franchise hasn’t won a playoff game in over 20 years, and they haven’t won a Super Bowl in double that time. So, why wouldn’t he have some thoughts? That’s a big reason he wants the guaranteed money on his new contract.
Luckily, the Raiders have put together a new regime that Crosby seems to be liking so far. Sure, he’s going to say he likes it, but this one seems to have the perfect vibes for him a Pete Carroll and John Spytek take over.
“It’s been incredible, you know, I have had some awful conversations with him,” Maxx Crosby said on ESPN Radio during Radio Row in New Orleans. “He’s very straightforward with his approach. You know, we talk about competing, energy, they literally have JBL speakers up there, and It sounds like a nightclub up there. That’s a little bit different, but I love that, though. That’s who I am.”
Pete Carroll and John Spytek also have one thing going for them that Crosby will like — Carroll has won a Super Bowl before with the Seattle Seahawks against the Denver Broncos. And he went to another Super Bowl but lost to the New England Patriots. Spytek won a Super Bowl with the Broncos and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
And, that’s ultimately what Crosby wants, is to win a Super Bowl. So, maybe the vibes really are high at the moment. It certainly seems that way.
