The trend this off-season for the Toronto Blue Jays this off-season has been their free agents targets signing elsewhere as the latest one goes to the Texas Rangers.
The Blue Jays have seen a number of their free agents targets sign elsewhere this winter such as Blake Snell, Max Fried, Walker Buehler and many more while the Blue Jays have only signed two players to major league deals.

The Blue Jays seem to have a ton of free agents targets this off-season as they have been linked to every above average player but have yet to close any big deals with the biggest being a 2 year deal with Yimi Garcia.
Another one of their targets is now off the board too as free agent Joc Pederson has a greed to a two year contract with the Texas Rangers worth $37 million which will pay him $18.5 million per season.

The deal, which is pending a physical, has an opt-out after the first year, sources told Olney.
Rangers, OF/DH Joc Pederson are reportedly in agreement on a two-year contract.
Pederson is coming off a solid season in 2024 with the Arizona Diamondbacks as he hit 23 homeruns, 64 RBIs with a .275 batting average and .393 on base percentage.
While Pederson was not at the top of the Blue Jays free agent list, this is just another example of Atkins taking too much time to get a deal done while everyone else in the MLB has been active.
