Recruiting insider reveals Alabama has taken the lead for elite five-star cornerback recruit that every program wants
Kalen DeBoer and the Alabama Crimson Tide hosted their junior day to start the month and welcomed a ton of big-time recruits on campus.
One of those was no other than five-star CB Brandon Arrington, who is a major target for the Crimson Tide coaching staff.
Arrington has north of 40 offers and every major program in the country wants him. The good news for Bama is that they are currently the favorite for the No. 1 cornerback in the country, according to On3’s Steve Wiltfong.
“Texas A&M is the current On3 RPM favorite because they were the leader in the fall. But recent trips to Oregon and Alabama have changed the pulse. It’s the Crimson Tide who got the most recent visit and they’re the one that has moved to the front heading into the next wave of visits.” — Steve Wiltfong, On3
Alabama has just one commitment so far in the class of 2026. ATH Zyan Gibson is the lone player committed to Alabama at this time and he is ranked the No. 94 player in the country. Last season, DeBoer and the Crimson Tide finished with the No. 4 ranked class, per 247 Sports.
Arrington is a 6-foot-2 player who plays as a wide receiver and cornerback in California. The talented cornerback prospect has track speed on the field to stay with any wideout. A player that will look to play a role from Day 1.
In 2025, Alabama came away with five-star CB Dijon Lee and four-star Chuck McDonald for the class. The Crimson Tide will take multiple cornerbacks in this class once again.
There is a long way to go until signing time for the class of 2026 and Arrington is not ready for a commitment yet, but the Crimson Tide are right where they need to be in his recruitment.
