LSU Lands Commitment From Elite In-State Prospect
The college football transfer portal has slowed down considerably in recent weeks, although there is still a lot of action on the recruiting front.
The LSU Tigers have been busy in both regards. At the start of February, LSU saw four-star defensive lineman JaReylan McCoy decommit from the program.
On Thursday, LSU got some good news on the recruiting front with four-star offensive tackle Brysten Martinez announcing his commitment on his Instagram page.
“Finally I want to thank LSU for allowing me to continue my academic and athletic career in their hands i wouldn’t want it to be anywhere else. My dream has come true,” Martinez wrote.
Martinez is a four-star recruit in the Class of 2026 and is the No. 9 OT, per 247Sports.
Martinez plays at East Ascension High School in Gonzales, Louisiana, so he is deciding to stay in-state to play college football.
Martinez was one of several players on hand for LSU’s junior day event in January, and now he joins the Tigers’ impressive class of 2026.
The four-star OT had a flurry of offers, including ones from Texas A&M, Oregon, Tennessee, Penn State, Georgia and Florida.
LSU’s 2026 recruiting class also includes DT Richard Anderson, safety Aiden Hall, OL Jalan Chapman and WR Kenny Darby.
