Let the Tennessee Vols hype begin.
Wednesday was the first day of fall camp for Tennessee and there were immediately some fireworks as quarterback Nico Iamaleava connected with wide receiver Chris Brazzell for an impressive play (which was captured by Tennessee’s social media team).
Brazzell, a Tulane transfer who joined the Vols earlier this offseason, made a terrific grab on a well-placed ball from Iamaleava for a touchdown.
It’s just one play. And it’s only a practice. But if you’re a Vols fan, you have to be encouraged to see Brazzell and Iamaleava continuing to build chemistry just a month before the season starts.
Brazzell has the size/speed combo to be one of the top wide receivers in the SEC. If Brazzell can quickly master Josh Heupel’s offense — which is possible in a player’s first year (just ask Cedric Tillman, Velus Jones Jr, and JaVonta Payton) — then it could be a long season for the defensive backs on Tennessee’s schedule.
