Michigan football will host top-100 SEC commitment for official visit
Michigan football is now scheduled to host a top-100 linebacker committed to an SEC school for an official visit.
Things are picking up for Michigan football on the recruiting trail in the 2026 class. Recruits are starting to set up spring visits and official visits in the summer.
One of the most interesting official visits that has been scheduled in recent days is that of Auburn linebacker commitment Shadarius Toodle.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound linebacker is ranked No. 100 overall in the 2026 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. He’s also ranked as the No. 8 linebacker in the 2026 class and the eight-best player in the state of Alabama.
Toodle committed to the Tigers last June about a month after Michigan football entered the mix with an offer. Up to this point, the Wolverines haven’t created a ton of momentum with Toodle. Yet, the talented linebacker who had 157 tackles last season along with 13 tackles for loss and two sacks is coming to Ann Arbor which is a positive sign.
Breaking down the recruitment of Shadarius Toodle
Toodle had 10 sacks and recovered four fumbles as a sophomore. With the way that Michigan has been able to develop linebackers and pass rushers, Toodle would be foolish not to consider the Wolverines, who are now in line for an official visit.
Toodle told Chad Simmons of On3.com that “I just want to be absolutely certain when choosing college for the next 3 to 4 years.”
Flipping Toodle won’t be easy. Not only is Auburn an in-state school but there are some other heavy hitters involved. Georgia is one of the five teams the blue-chip linebacker will visit along with Alabama, Baylor, and Florida.
However, getting the talented linebacker on campus is a good place to start for Michigan football. That at least gives them a puncher’s chance.
