Saints Interviewing Eagles RB Coach Jemel Singleton
Kellen Moore continues to work quickly to assemble his new staff with the New Orleans Saints.
As first reported by ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter on Monday, the Saints are interviewing Philadelphia Eagles running back coach Jemel Singleton for their open offensive coordinator spot.
Singleton, 49, has been the RB Coach of the Eagles since 2021. Moore served as the offensive coordinator in Philadelphia this past season as the Eagles worked their way to a Super Bowl LIX championship.

Singleton began his coaching career as a prep assistant, then RB coach for the Air Force Academy from 2000 to 2010. He’d move on to coach the running backs at Oklahoma State from 2011-2014.
After a one-year stint as RB coach and special teams coordinator at Arkansas in 2015, Singleton got his first NFL job as RB coach with the Indianapolis Colts. He’d be in that position from 2016 to 2017 before catching the same position with the Oakland Raiders in 2018.
One year in Oakland, where current Saint Derek Carr was the starting quarterback, led to Singleton getting hired as Cincinnati Bengals RB coach from 2019 to 2020. In 2021, Singleton was brought in as the RB Coach for the Eagles. He’s served in that position since.
Singleton has been an NFL assistant for nine seasons. In those nine years, he’s had five different backs surpass 1,000 yards in a season. Philadelphia has owned a running game that has ranked no worse than eighth in each of his four seasons with them.
During the 2024-25 campaign, Philadelphia ranked second in rushing yardage, first in rushing attempts, and eighth in total offense. Eagles RB Saquon Barkley rushed for 2,005 yards and 13 scores this season, becoming just the ninth back in NFL history to surpass the 2,000-yard barrier.
Jemel Singleton is the third to be interviewed for the Saints vacant offensive coordinator position. The others include Eagles QB Coach Doug Nussmeier and Dolphins WR Coach Robert Prince.
