The University of Tennessee continued to bolster its future football roster by securing a commitment from Carson Sneed, a highly touted 4-star tight end, on Monday evening. Sneed, a native of Nashville, Tennessee, chose the Volunteers over other top programs including Ohio State, Oregon, Auburn, and Ole Miss.
Standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing 235 pounds, Sneed is currently attending Donelson Christian Academy in Nashville. He has been ranked as the No. 8 tight end and the No. 174 overall player in the country for the class of 2026, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. Additionally, he is considered the No. 5 player from the state of Tennessee.
This significant commitment follows closely on the heels of Tennessee securing a pledge from quarterback Faizon Brandon, marking a strong start to their 2026 recruiting class. With Sneed and Brandon onboard, the Volunteers already boast the nation’s No. 13-ranked class for 2026, despite having only two commits so far.
Sneed made several visits to Knoxville over the summer, which evidently helped him make his decision to commit to Tennessee. His announcement was celebrated by many, including recruiting analysts and Tennessee fans, as he is expected to bring considerable talent to the Volunteers’ offensive lineup.
His sophomore season highlights reveal a player with robust physical attributes and a promising future at the collegiate level. As Tennessee continues to build its team under the current coaching staff, securing commitments from top in-state talents like Sneed is crucial for maintaining strong recruiting momentum.
