Alabama Crimson Tide appear to be on the verge of landing elite 2026 four-star recruit

The Alabama Crimson Tide appear to be on the verge of landing an elite 2026 four-star recruit.

On3’s Steve Wiltfong predicted this week that Alabama will land 2026 four-star tight end Mack Sutter.

“I continue to like where the Crimson Tide stand and have logged an On3 RPM to reflect that,” wrote Wiltfong in regards to Sutter. “Alabama is slated to get a spring practice visit ahead of summer officials.”

Illinois, Ohio State, Penn State, and Ole Miss are also in the mix for the talented tight end.

Sutter, 6-foot-5/225 lbs from Dunlap, IL, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 7 tight end in the nation and the No. 2 player in the state of Illinois. He’s also rated as the No. 94 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.

The official visit schedule for Sutter is certainly a good sign for Alabama’s chances of landing the Illinois native.

The four-star recruit is set to take official visits this spring/summer to Illinois (April 11th), Ole Miss (April 25th), Ohio State (May 30th), Penn State (June 6th), Alabama (June 20th).

Sutter indicated to 247Sports earlier this month that he plans to commit at the end of June after he wraps up his official visits.

The fact that Alabama is getting Sutter’s final official visit before he commits puts the Crimson Tide in the best position to emerge as the winner in this recruiting battle.
