Elite recruit who would be a home run get for the Ohio State Buckeyes makes key decision for the spring

Following the National Championship win for the Ohio State Buckeyes, all focus was figuring out their roster and coaching staff for the 2025 season.

We’re in a dead period and things are quiet now for the most part. However, that will again change in a few weeks as we get into the spring.

March is going to be a big month for the Buckeyes on the field and off of it. The Buckeyes’ biggest visitor of the spring will be here in the third week of March.

Ohio State recently made the final six schools list for No. 1 2026 offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell out of Missouri. Cantwell will visit Ohio State, Michigan, and Miami in the third week of March, per On3’s Steve Wiltfong. Other schools that made the final list are Missouri, Oregon, and Georgia.

At this time, the Bulldogs are pictured as the favorite to land Cantwell. Getting him on campus in Columbus in March is huge for the Buckeyes, as every time they are able to get him on campus will be. Cantwell is the No. 1 overall player, according to the 247 Sports Composite.

Ohio State’s top target has to be Cantwell with their recent struggles of bringing in top-end talent along the offensive line. A year after swinging and missing with David Sanders Jr., Ohio State gets the chance to land another elite tackle prospect.

At 6-foot-7 and 300 pounds, Cantwell is a player who is going to be able to compete from Day 1 when he reaches this level. New Ohio State offensive line coach Tyler Bowen will attempt to bring this one home for the Buckeyes when it is all said and done.
