BYU basketball’s remaining schedule is one of the toughest in the country

BYU notched its biggest win of the season on Tuesday against the No. 23 Kansas Jayhawks. The Cougars are getting hot at the right time, especially since they have one of the hardest remaining schedules in the entire country.
Remaining Games
BYU has the 40th-ranked strength of schedule overall, but the 27th-ranked remaining strength of schedule. Let’s take a look at its remaining games.
At Arizona on Saturday, Feb. 22

NET Ranking: 9
The Cougars already faced off once against the No. 19 ranked Wildcats, an 85-74 loss of February 4th. Arizona has been one of the hottest teams in the country as of late, and are top 10 in NET rankings for a reason. Hopefully, the loss a few weeks ago, and momentum from the Kansas win will fuel the Cougars to revenge.
At Arizona State on Wednesday, Feb. 26

NET Ranking: 66
This might end up being the easiest remaining game for BYU, but traveling to Tempe is never easy. BYU beat Arizona State by 20 on New Year’s Eve, but they cannot overlook the Sun Devils.
Vs West Virginia on Saturday, Mar. 1

NET Ranking: 44
Another tough test against a strong West Virginia squad. BYU traveled to Morgantown just two weeks ago and escaped with a narrow four-point victory over the Mountaineers. This time they will face off in the Marriott Center. Another top 50 NET team for BYU.
At Iowa State on Tuesday, Mar. 4

NET Ranking: 8
In BYU’s toughest remaining matchup of the season, it will travel to Ames and Hilton Coliseum to face off against the Cyclones. They are currently ranked No. 8 in the country, and are third in the Big 12. They are also currently riding a four-game win streak, but also face tough tests against No. 5 Houston and No. 19 Arizona before battling BYU.
Vs Utah on Saturday, Mar. 8

NET Ranking: 71
Utah is the lowest ranked NET team that BYU has left on the schedule, but we all know this is never an easy game. Even in down years for the Utes, they seem to bring their absolute best against BYU. That was evident in a 73-72 overtime loss for BYU in mid-January. Hopefully BYU has their place solidly in the NCAA tournament by the time this game rolls around, because this one might get ugly.
