The72’s writers offer their Norwich City vs Blackburn Rovers prediction ahead of the Championship clash on Saturday.
Blackburn Rovers head to Carrow Road this weekend to take on Norwich City as they look to keep their momentum going.
Blackburn Rovers won 4-2 at home to Derby County in their opening clash of the new 2024/25 Championship season at Ewood Park. They have got three points on the board nice and early as they aim for a successful campaign under ex-Birmingham City boss John Eustace.
The Lancashire outfit then won 6-1 away at League One new boys Stockport County at Edgeley Park in the first round of the Carabao Cup. Their opponents played a young side though.
Eustace’s men have made an impressive start and will be keen to keep getting results. They have until the end of the month to conclude any incoming or outgoing bits of business.
As for Norwich City, they lost 2-0 away at Oxford United at the Kassam Stadium last weekend. However, they bounced back with a 4-3 cup win over Stevenage last time out.
It has been a summer of change at Carrow Road and the Canaries decided to part ways with David Wagner after they lost in the play-offs last season. He has been replaced by Johannes Hoff Thorup.
Here, a handful of our writers make their predictions for the game…
Harry Mail
“Blackburn Rovers have started well so should have a lot of confidence here. Key man Sammie Szmodics has played in both of their recent clashes against Derby County and Stockport County.
“Rovers have a lot of experience into their squad now with players like Andi Weimann and Danny Batth and that should come in handy.
“I think Norwich City could cause problems for their opponents this weekend. They still have strong players at their disposal like Abu Kamara, Borja Sainz and Kenny McLean, despite losing Gabriel Sara and the impending exit of Jon Rowe.
“I can see this one being a draw in East Anglia.”
