Former Ohio State Buckeye gives bold take, says March Madness will come down to Duke and Auburn

The hottest teams in all of college basketball right now are the Duke Blue Devils and the Auburn Tigers. Duke is arguably the hotter of the two, having won 19 of their last 20 games. Auburn has been nearly as impressive, winning 18 of their last 19 contests.

This season, the two programs are nearly identical in every aspect. Both lead their respective conferences in the standings and are ranked near the top of the AP Poll. The only notable difference is that Auburn has only two losses, while Duke has three. However, one of Auburn’s losses came at the hands of the Blue Devils.

Many expect that by March, both teams will secure No. 1 seeds when it is all said and done. There is little separation between the two, though Auburn plays in the stacked SEC, while Duke benefits from a somewhat easier schedule in the less competitive ACC.

Moreover, the favorites for National Player of the Year happen to be Johni Broome of Auburn and Cooper Flagg of Duke. Former Ohio State Buckeye Mark Titus had a very interesting take on this year’s NCAA Tournament.

“This NCAA Tournament is really just between Auburn and Duke,” Titus posted.

On his podcast, Titus elaborated further.

“If Auburn and Duke are still in it, I’m gonna be like, hey listen, there’s a lot of madness, but it’s still Auburn and Duke,” Titus explained.

Both programs are favorites to win the whole tournament. Should they face off in the championship game, it will undoubtedly go down as one of the most anticipated matchups in history.

As it stands, not only will the National Player of the Year race likely come down to Auburn and Duke, but there’s also a strong chance the national championship will be decided by these two powerhouse teams.
