Florida Included in Top Five For Top-10 College Football Prospect
The Florida Gators were one of the final five teams for one of the better prospects in the 2026 class.
According to On3’s Chad
Edmonds is highly sought after, with offers from Georgia Tech, USC, Texas A&M, Texas, South Carolina, SMU, Baylor and others.
Edmonds has yet to visit Florida. However, he is undecided on taking some visits in the spring or committing to one of his top choices soon.
He is a four-star prospect and the No. 10 cornerback in the 2026 class, per the On3 Industry Rankings.
“New offers are coming in and I could decide to take a few spring visits first, I’m just not sure,” Edmonds said. “We are still talking about it. I could commit soon, or I could take a little more time.”
Edmonds was at Florida for Junior Day and a game, liking how personal the relationship has been with the Gators.
“I have been to Florida for a Junior Day and a game, and there is a good feeling there,” Edmonds said. “They make it feel personal, and I like that. Coach Will Harris recruits me hard, and I like him. Florida has great facilities, too, and it is a beautiful place.”
The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine believes Alabama is currently the frontrunner for Edmonds. It gives Alabama a 97.8% chance of landing Edmonds. Georgia is in second with a 1.4% chance.
Edmonds has proven he can play on both sides of the ball, seeing time at receiver and cornerback. Last season, he caught 32 passes for 648 receiving yards and four touchdowns. On defense, he had 30 total tackles and one TFL.
Florida begins the 2025 season against Long Island on Aug. 30.
