Kalen DeBoer is a real thorn in Ohio State’s side with elite 2026 recruit who the Buckeyes can’t let get away
The Ohio State Buckeyes have a great class of football players in the state for the class of 2026 and they have to take advantage of that.
Ohio State isn’t too far in putting their 2026 class together with just four commitments. Five-star wideout Chris Henry Jr. is the top commitment for the Buckeyes and one they have to keep committed until signing day.
Five-star cornerback Elbert Hill is a top target for the Buckeyes and a player right in Akron, Ohio. Hill has been a consistent visitor to Columbus over the last couple of seasons, but the Buckeyes are going to have to fight off a major SEC program.
According to On3’s Steve Wiltfong, Hill will visit Alabama on the first day that recruits can get back on campus on March 3. Instead of being in Columbus, which is a much shorter drive, Hill is on the road to Tuscaloosa.
“The Crimson Tide has quietly moved itself into the top group of schools on Hill’s list. After the game day visit for the Georgia game and an in-person visit with Kalen DeBoer and other coaches in January, Alabama is surging in this race.” — Steve Wiltfong, On3
Ohio State brought in No. 1 cornerback Devin Sanchez in last year’s class and the Buckeyes are trying to go back-to-back classes landing the top player at the position. According to 247 Sports, Hill is the No. 21 player in the country for the class of 2026.
Hill has north of 30 offers and of course, Oregon is a team who is very much in the mix to land him. USC is another contender from the Big Ten and the elite cornerback prospect holds offers from schools like Michigan, Penn State, Miami, Tennessee, and Notre Dame.
The 5-foot-10 cornerback would add solid depth to a room that could be led by Sanchez, Aaron Scott, and Bryce West by the time he arrives in Columbus if OSU could pick up his commitment.
