Derby County got another summer signing over the line on Monday.
On Monday, Derby County announced the signing of Tawanda Chirewa, who joins the Rams on loan from Wolves.
He becomes Paul Warne’s 10th summer signing so far. But the Rams boss looks keen to bring some more names to Pride Park before the August 30th transfer deadline.
There’s a lingering sense that Derby County could be in store for a long and testing 2024/25 Championship season, despite an impressive 1-0 win vs Middlesbrough earlier in the month.
Fans think Warne is lacking quality in more than one area of the pitch and it could force the club’s recruitment team into a late push, following a recent recruitment meeting at Derby County.
Like with the Chirewa deal, Premier League loans could become a point of focus for Derby County and indeed many other Championship clubs in the final days of the window.
And it looks as though Leicester City are ready to send a number of their talented youngsters out on loan, with the Rams in the mix.

Derby County in race to sign Leicester City trio on loan
Journalist Darren Witcoop has revealed that Leicester City plan to send some of their youngsters out on loan to the Championship this week.
Among those tipped to head out are Kasey McAteer, Ben Nelson, and Tom Cannon.
Earlier this summer, Cardiff City and Hull City were linked with a loan deal for McAteer. who’s just signed a new contract with the Foxes.
Centre-back Nelson has been linked with Sunderland, and so too has Cannon.
Witcoop tagged #DCFC in the post, suggesting that Derby are among the teams keeping tabs on the above Leicester City players.
One potential Leicester City deal is highly unlikely for Derby County
There’s three exciting names who could be sent out on loan this week, and potentially to Derby County too.
All three would add Championship quality to the ranks at Pride Park but one potential deal seems unlikely; Cannon.
Leicester City signed the striker from Everton last summer for £8million, and this week, Sunderland have tabled a £5million bid for the Irishman.
Other Championship clubs are expected to join the race and so Derby County seem unlikely to stand a chance there, but deals for McAteer and Nelson may be more likely.
Nelson especially; the 20-year-old centre-back lacks first-team experience, featuring five times in the Championship for Leicester last season, after graduating through their youth ranks.
Attacker McAteer featured 23 times in the league and score six goals.
Either one of Nelson or McAteer arriving at Derby would be a good signing for Warne, adding extra quality and depth ahead of a long-haul Championship campaign.
