Duke Announces Historic Cooper Flagg News
Cooper Flagg and the Duke Blue Devils have been dominant as of late, riding a four-game win streak, while sitting at No. 1 in the ACC standings.
After dominating the Illinois Fighting Illini 110-67, the Blue Devils advanced to 24-3 on the season.
Flagg has been the leader of the pack, helping Duke stand in position to enter the NCAA tournament and ACC tournament as a No. 1 seed.
Following the win over Illinois, the Blue Devils’ official social media account revealed that Flagg has now won the most ACC Rookie of the Week honors for one season in conference history (11).
Flagg surpassed a couple of college basketball legends for the historic ACC feat. Jabari Parker, Tyler Hansbrough and Kenny Anderson each won 10 ACC Rookie of the Week honors during their respective freshman seasons.
In Duke’s victory over the Fighting Illini, Flagg posted 16 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
So far this season, Flagg has averaged 19.5 points, 7.7 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.1 blocks per game, all of which lead the Blue Devils’ roster.
Flagg and the Blue Devils will now prepare for a matchup against the Miami Hurricanes on Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET.
