West Brom summer signing Callum Styles is not at high risk of injury despite his slightly erratic game time last season, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert has assessed the 24-year-old’s fitness record and does not think he’ll struggle to adapt to life at the Hawthorns.
It will also come in handy that he spent the second half of last season on loan at Sunderland in the Championship.
Reacting to this development, injury expert Dr Brar – who is a physical therapy specialist and sports scientist – has told West Brom News:
“Key things for any player moving up leagues will be to understand the differences in league demands in terms of physical factors along with key differences in environment and location.
“The fact that he’s got substantial experience in the Championship certainly bodes well in terms of his adaptability.
“Having assessed his fitness record in recent seasons, there’s nothing significant in terms of red flags that I can see.
“Despite his erratic game time last season in terms of minutes played, it does not necessarily mean he’s at a high risk of injury.“
Callum Styles is a valuable addition to the West Brom side
The Hungary international played eight minutes of the 1-0 win against Swansea on 31 August, making his Baggies debut
With 23 caps for his country, he arrives at the Hawthorns with some much-needed pedigree and offers Carlos Corberan a versatile option in the side.
Hopefully, he can showcase his ability from the get-go and can catapult the Baggies back to the Premier League.
In other West Brom news, the Baggies are likely to be on high alert as they can seal a new free-agent transfer this month.
