Nottingham Forest have been able to get themselves off to a really solid start to the 2024/25 Premier League campaign.
After a busy summer in the market, Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side have taken five points from their opening three games.
The Reds even sit ahead of teams like Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur in the table as the first international break of the season is in full swing.
Considering the late scares at the City Ground last season, Forest have started this season off in a seriously promising manner.
There have been some strong individual performances along the way with one player now expected to hold talks over a potential new deal over the coming months.
Nottingham Forest set for fresh contract talks
Over the course of the summer window, Forest were able to bring in a host of new players for Nuno in an attempt to bolster the squad.
However, there is one player who was already at the club in Morgan Gibbs-White who has continued to shine.
The midfielder is currently away on international duty with England as he aims to earn his first ever cap for the senior side.
According to the Daily Mail, Gibbs-White is now expected to hold fresh contract talks with Forest over the coming months.
A potential new deal for the England international would see him elevated as the top earner at the club.
Having provided five goals and 10 assists last season, Forest will be keen to tie down Gibbs-White to a longer and improved deal despite still having three years remaining.
This comes after the likes of Tottenham Hotspur had shown an interest in the ‘extraordinary’ Gibbs-White over the summer.
How much could Morgan Gibbs-White earn with new Forest deal
Having signed a five-year deal back in 2022, it is reported Gibbs-White is currently earning in the region of £80k-per-week.
This would have the midfielder as the joint-fourth highest earner at the City Ground following James Ward-Prowse’s arrival on loan.
The top permanent earner is also a new arrival in Nikola Milenkovic who is taking home a believed £105k-per-week.
With Gibbs-White potentially set to be earning in excess of £110k-per-week, there probably aren’t too many fans who would suggest he is not worthy of being the club’s top paid player.
