Texas A&M Lands Historic Media Rights Contract Ahead Of 2025 Football Season

Texas A&M has landed a massive media rights contract.

According to Billy Liucci of TexAgs.com, A&M is set to announce a 15-year, $515 million deal with Playfly Sports. This deal would see the school jump from $18 million annually to $34 million for the multi-media rights.

It’s the biggest deal in college sports history.

Texas A&M had a previous deal with Learfield, but it was set to expire in 2025 after it was signed in 2015.

Playfly Sports will work with the Aggies on strategies for growth, NIL, fan engagement, and so much more. Penn State, Virginia Tech, and Nebraska are also part of Playfly Sports but don’t have a deal as big as this one.

It will be a game-changer for the Aggies and could lead to other top schools signing deals similar to this one.

The Aggies went 8-5 during the 2024 college football season under first-year head coach Mike Elko and will try to build upon that in 2025. Elko wants to get this program back to national prominence since they haven’t won at least 10 games since the 2012 season.

Elko took over the program from Jimbo Fisher, who was the head coach for six seasons. Fisher had some success, including a 9-1 season in 2020, but really underachived the next three seasons, leading to the Aggies hiring Elko.

The Aggies will play in a very competitive SEC again in 2025. The Alabama Crimson Tide, Georgia Bulldogs, Texas Longhorns, LSU Tigers, Tennessee Volunteers, Ole Miss Rebels, and South Carolina Gamecocks will all be back and boast a lot of great talent.

Still, this media rights deal is a big deal for the Aggies and brings in a lot more money for the foreseeable future.
