Jalen Milroe gives forecast for future of Alabama football after losing to Michigan in ReliaQuest Bowl

Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe still sees a bright future for the Crimson Tide despite falling to Michigan 19-13 in disappointing fashion in the ReliaQuest Bowl as he looks to have a decision on his hand.

The redshirt junior has been highly scrutinized after an underwhelming performance, only completing 16-of 32 passes for 192 passing yards, throwing one touchdown and surrendering two turnovers to the Michigan defense.

Milroe met with reporters following the game, and he provided an update on if he had made a decision about his future.

“Right now, I’m just gonna try to soak up this moment today and not really try to focus on any future endeavors,” Milroe said.

The former four-star also gave an insightful answer when asked his take on the future of the Alabama football program going forward.

“It’s a bright future ahead,” Milroe said. “Because people understand what needs to be done so that we can be the best version of ourselves. “The standard that is here, the standard that is set. And we have a lot of great dudes in the locker room that’s hungry. That’s looking to get better and looking to uphold the standard. And we also have to look at who’s within the building, which is (Chap) Josh Chapman and (Denzel) Duvall, (HaHa) Clinton-Dix, these are guys that have won national championships. Chap was the era of coach (Nick) Saban being implemented into the system, so we have guys who understand what the standard is in the system when it comes to within the building. But also guys that are hungry, starving and have the right mentality.”

As 2024 comes to a close, all eyes now shift to Milroe being officially on the clock with a pending decision.
