QPR saw a number of first team stars leave the club as free agents this summer with players including Asmir Begovic, Chris Willock and Jordan Archer seeking new challenges elsewhere at the end of their contracts.
Making the most of released stars can be a profitable trick for EFL sides with some clubs still hashing out deals well past Deadline Day this week.
As free agents continue to capture the attention of football supporters, LondonWorld looks at seven former QPR players who, as it stands, will be available on a free transfer at the end of the 2024/25 season.
Darnell Furlong
Currently a West Brom player and has been with the Midlands club since 2019. Furlong signed a contract extension in 2021 to take his deal until the summer of 2025. The 28-year-old is a product of the QPR academy and made 72 appearances for the R’s, including three in the Premier League.
A recent QPR man, the midfielder played a role in the R’s season last term before being sent on loan to Birmingham City in January to make way for new recruits such as Lucas Andersen. The 25-year-old left Loftus Road as a free agent this summer and signed for Portsmouth on a one-year deal.
Jack Robinson
The former Liverpool and Nottingham Forest defender has been with Sheffield United since 2020 and remained a mainstay in the team across three Premier League and three Championship seasons. Robinson was with QPR between 2014 and 2018 and he signed a two-year extension with the Blades in 2023.
Asmir Begovic
QPR’s number one between the sticks last season was rumoured to be open to extending his deal at one point but made a somewhat surprise return to Premier League side Everton. The 37-year-old only signed a one year deal this summer.
Chris Martin
The prolific forward is currently playing for Bristol Rovers and plundered 16 goals in League One last season. Martin spent a short time with QPR, signing in February 2023 and leaving that summer, but did bag a respectable four Championship goals in 16 outings that season. Bristol Rovers took a one-year contract extension option in May this year.
Scott Sinclair
The former Premier League star is currently playing in League One with Bristol Rovers and has been since 2022. The 35-year-old, who was loaned to QPR from Chelsea in 2007 but only made nine R’s appearances, was made Bristol Rovers club captain this summer having signed a new one-year deal.
Macauley Bonne
The 28-year-old has made headlines this week by securing a free transfer to National League side Southend United. The forward put pen to paper on a one-year deal, with the club having an option for an extension. Bonne played for Gillingham and Cambridge United last season having been at QPR between 2020 and 2023.
