Liverpool return to Premier League action this weekend as they host Nottingham Forest at Anfield. The Reds will go into the game looking to continue their 100 percent start to the season and win a fourth consecutive match.
Arne Slot’s team claimed a 3-0 victory over Manchester United before the international break. That win along with the three points in the games against Ipswich Town and Brentford mean Liverpool are second in the table and only behind leaders Manchester City on goals scored.
This month will see Liverpool compete in three competitions, including the Premier League. Champions League football will return for the Reds, who will also begin their Carabao Cup defence with a third-round clash against West Ham.
The ECHO has put together a round-up of Liverpool’s current injury list as the international break nears its conclusion.
Alexis Mac Allister
Alexis Mac Allister emerged as an injury doubt for Liverpool while featuring for Argentina. The midfielder was withdrawn during the World Cup qualifier against Colombia last week, the same game where he opened the scoring for his country.
Reports claimed in the days that followed that Mac Allister was suffering from an adductor injury. The injury had forced the Liverpool midfielder to miss training in the build-up to Tuesday night’s clash against Colombia.
Liverpool will hope to have Mac Allister available for the club’s first match after the international break this weekend.
Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has been sidelined with a fitness issue for the last few weeks that has forced him to miss the last two Premier League matches.
Jones was an unused substitute in the opening-day victory over Ipswich Town and is yet to make his first appearance of the season.
The midfielder has been stepping up his recovery from the injury during the international break. As a result, Liverpool will hope to have Jones in the matchday squad when they face Forest this weekend.
