Penn State Basketball Injury Report Against Indiana
Penn State will be without Puff Johnson for the 10th straight game as it travels to Bloomington, Indiana, to take on the Hoosiers (8:30 p.m. EST, BTN).
Head coach Mike Rhoades said it was fair to assume Johnson would be out the rest of the season after sustaining a right-hand/wrist injury against Michigan State.
“Yes. Yeah, you are correct on that,” Rhoades said. “The number one thing I said in the summer was we got to stay healthy. We all knew that and losing him really hurts. But, you know, other teams lose guys too. So, I’m not making excuses, but we really miss him.”
Johnson was having a breakout season, averaging a career-high in points (10.2), rebounds (4.4), and field-goal percentage (54.3%).
For Indiana, redshirt freshman Jakai Newton and sophomore Gabe Cupps are listed as out.
Penn State went 1-7 after Johnson went out, but it is currently riding a two-game winning streak. It will look to extend the streak and earn its second Big Ten road win of the season against Indiana.
