Spring football is right around the corner at the collegiate level, and the intrigue around whether coach Ryan Day’s Ohio State team can repeat as national champions couldn’t be any greater.
With Will Howard’s soon-to-be NFL departure inevitable next month, the Buckeyes are left to fill the position this fall. One of those options could be Julian Sayin who saw limited reps during his freshman year as Howard guided the offense along.
During the NFL Scouting Combine, Howard made his case for Sayin to become the starter if it wasn’t obvious enough.
“Julian’s one of the most accurate quarterbacks I’ve been around, and the ball just looks so pretty coming out of his hand,” Howard told reporters last Friday. “Like it spins prettier than I’ve seen a lot of balls come out of quarterbacks’ hands. And he’s got a real chance to be elite, man.”
