BREAKING: Badgers lose one more receiver to the transfer portal
Despite the football season being in a dead period for recruitment, one Badger wide receiver has entered his name into the transfer portal. Slot receiver and special teams player Grady O’Neill announced his intentions to leave Madison earlier today on social media.

Badgers lose backup receiver O’Neill to the transfer portal
“After thoughtful consideration, I have decided to enter my name into the transfer portal as a graduate transfer with 2-3 years of eligibility remaining,” O’Neill posted on social media.
“I would like to thank my family for always believing in me, as well as all my coaches and teammates who have helped me grow as a player and a person.”
“I’m excited for the opportunities that lie ahead and am forever grateful to have been a part of the UW football family for the past three years.”
The graduate transfer will leave Wisconsin with two to three years of eligibility left, and should find some suitors for his blazing fast speed (4.39 – 40 yard dash) and high IQ (35 ACT score)! Since O’Neill is a graduate transfer, he does not need to wait until the open window in April to enter the portal. He recorded two tackles in three games this past season for UW.
The 5-foot-11, 165-pound receiver and special teams speedster joined Wisconsin back in 2021 as a preferred walk-on, and he’ll now look for his next team during the spring open recruitment window. The Badgers will begin their own spring practices on March 13th.
