Dusty May quote after infuriating Michigan loss to Maryland was made even worse

It wasn’t long ago that the Michigan Wolverines were in a good spot to win the Big Ten title. Then, everything that could have gone wrong for this team did. Dusty May and Co. have lost their last three games, including the 71-65 loss to Maryland earlier this week.
Following that loss, Michigan’s hopes to win the Big Ten title were on the respiratior, with Michigan State looking like the team to beat. Well, the Spartans took down Iowa on Thursday night to capture the regular season title outright.
This weekend, Michigan State and Michigan will square off, but only bragging rights will be on the line. After the loss to Maryland, May said he was going to be rooting for Iowa, but the fact of the matter is that the Wolverines should have never had to rely on another team to get the job done for them:
Dusty May: “Obviously we’re big Iowa Hawkeye fans right now, but more importantly we need to get back to good, team basketball.”

Dusty May and Michigan need to wake up and fast
After looking so strong for the majority of the campaign, Michigan has lost four of its last five games, including a loss to the Spartans and Tom Izzo. Michigan can’t seem to get into any kind of a rhythm on the hardwood, which has been quite disappointing to see.
May has said that he wants his team to get back to the basics and focus on playing team basketball. That sounds nice, but the Wolverines haven’t been able to get that done over the past three contests, with losses to Maryland, Illinois and Rutgers being posted.
The losses to Rutgers and Illinois were quite disheartening, as it seemed like Michigan would have no issues coming out on top in those matchups. This weekend vs. Michigan State, May needs to see a better effort out of his guys. Losing five of six leading up to the Big Ten Tournament is the last thing this team needs to see happen.
