Former West Brom man Jovan Malcolm has joined National League side Gateshead after his Hawthorns exit, the North-East club has announced.
Gateshead posted Malcolm’s official announcement via their X page (21 September) and shared that after a successful trial period in pre-season, the forward has signed a two-year deal with the club.
The striker made seven first-team appearances for the Baggies and will be hoping to get his senior career fully underway at his new club.
West Brom are flying high this season
While last season was already a fairly good performance from the Baggies, the 2024/25 campaign has gotten off to an even better start.
The club are currently top of the Championship with one point between them and second place.
Carlos Corberan’s men carried on with their winning ways once again on 21 September as they managed to bypass Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth Argyle in a 1-0 win.
New arrival Uros Racic was slotted into the first team by the Spaniard as a replacement for Jayson Molumby who was carrying an injury during their last game against Portsmouth.
Fans lauded the display of the Baggies newbie with one even claiming he had a “wonderful football brain” after his appearance.
There’s still plenty of time until the end of the season of course but at the moment, it feels as if the club are on an upward trajectory with the Baggies currently showing no signs of slowing down.
