The Hammers currently sit in 14th place on the Premier League table with one win, one draw and three losses after their first five games.
West Ham need to give Julen Lopetegui time and not sack him
It’s sensible for Sullivan to not want to pull the trigger this early despite the Hammers’ poor start to the season.
The Irons owner is known to be slow with sacking managers as could be seen with David Moyes, when it was clear to everyone it wasn’t working out.
While West Ham sit in 14th place with three losses in five games, their losses have come against Manchester City, Aston Villa and Chelsea – all three clubs vying for a top four or top six finish this season
If these kinds of performances continue against teams that finished below them last season, then it becomes a real cause for concern.
As things stand, panicking is not going to solve the problem and if the club were certain that Lopetegui is the right man for the job, he needs to be given time to implement his philosophy.
Hopefully, things improve in the coming games as there are certainly glaring flaws in the way the team has been set up this season.
