Saints duo of Drew Brees and Reggie Bush could team back up for their next chapter
Drew Brees and Reggie Bush had a lot of success when they were teammates for the New Orleans Saints, and they could soon recreate that magic together.
In 2006, after a 3-13 season, the New Orleans Saints hired Sean Payton as head coach, signed Drew Brees, and drafted Reggie Bush with the second-overall pick. Those decisions immediately turned the franchise into a perennial contender, and eventually brung the city a Super Bowl.
Bush and Brees proved to be a great duo offensively, and the former running back has frequently discussed the positive effect the all-time great quarterback has had on his career. Brees is an elite leader, and that’s why Reggie Bush would be willing to follow him anywhere. Turns out, he could be following him into the coaching world.
In a joint appearance on the Up & Adams show, Kay Adams asked Bush if Brees should take over as the Saints head coach at some point. The former running back said that he’d 100% be in full support, and that he’d also 100% want to coach with him.
Is NFL HC in @DrewBrees’ future??? 😳@ReggieBush hopes so:

Reggie Bush wants to coach with Drew Brees in the NFL
Brees made it very clear that he’s open to the idea, and when Adams asked why it hasn’t happened yet, the legendary quarterback said he’s not sure if the league is ready yet. That led to Bush going on a spiel about how a lot of former NFL players want to coach, but it’s not always that easy of a transition as it is for NBA players.
Coaching in the league is clearly on both of these guys’ radar, though, and several former players are currently coaching in the NFL, so they could be next in line. Unfortunately for the fans of nostalgia, it won’t be in New Orleans anytime soon.
The Saints are nearing the end of coaching search, with all signs pointing to Kellen Moore being hired. Of course, New Orleans would want Moore around for several years, because that would reflect success. However, if Moore’s time in New Orleans ends before Brees and Bush land with a team, they could be returning to the Saints.
