A Quick Look Ahead at Penn State’s 2025 Football Schedule
reloading. Penn State will have the experience factor, but will it be enough to topple Ohio State for the first time since 2016?
The four-game stretch to end the regular season could look very different by the time November comes around. Indiana is coming off its most successful season in program history, but may face a regression to the mean once they replace most of its starters while trying to build the program under Curt Cignetti, who seems up the task at a school that’s had little success on the gridiron before his arrival.
A trip to East Lansing to battle for the Land Grant Trophy comes at a tricky spot, but the Spartans likely need more time to become a contender under Jonathan Smith. While Smith has a tremendous track record by turning around Oregon State, they will not likely be ready for prime time in the Big Ten after a 2-7 finish to close out 2024.
The penultimate game of the regular season bring the ‘Huskers to town for the first meeting between the programs since 2020. Matt Rhule has done wonders at previous stops in Temple and Baylor, but the off-season has not been kind to the program. Nebraska will once again be a wild-card, and pin its hopes on the development of five-star Dylan Raiola making a big leap in his sophomore year.
Penn State then closes out the regular season with a trip to Rutgers as they look to extend their 17-game winning streak over the Scarlet Knights that date back to 1988. Could a trip to Indianapolis and playoff berth be on the line again? Only time will tell…
