BYU’s Tyler Batty is the lone Cougar at the NFL Combine

Tyler Batty is a beast. He can sack quarterbacks, force fumbles and intercept passes. BYU has produced another NFL-level talent and Tyler Batty could become another superstar. Let’s look at his resume.
Tyler Batty had quite the BYU career. In his junior year, he racked up 5.5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles in 12 games. Batty has started every game since the 2022 season. He is unblockable and loves to get after quarterbacks. A jack of all trades, Batty knows how to play anywhere on the field.
Batty attended Payson High School where he was a dominant force on defense. He was highly recruited out of High School by schools like UCLA, Boise State, Air Force, Utah State, Utah, Princeton, and Hawai’i. Batty decided to serve a church mission to Spain before returning and playing for BYU.

Batty also runs a nonprofit equine therapy nonprofit, Edward’s Hands where people with special needs ride horses to give them a happier life. Batty also works as a volunteer for the Girl Scouts of Utah. Batty is all about the community and whatever NFL team drafts him is going to be lucky to have someone like him in their city.
Tyler Batty is a defensive mastermind. He knows how to beat blocks, disrupt passing lanes, and make key tackles. He averaged approximately 7.7 tackles for loss in his last three seasons and had a big sack against Baylor last year to make the Bear’s chances small.
Tyler Batty is the defensive Captain for a reason. His talent mixed with his leadership was a big strength to BYU’s defense, which came up big last season in several key moments. Batty is a true leader and could be a big blessing to whichever NFL team selects him.
Overall Tyler Batty is a good fit for the NFL. He is strong, focused, and community-oriented, which will help both his future team and future city. He is a good leader and a wonderful person and I cannot wait to see how he does. Good luck, Tyler!
