Where Clemson lands in latest bracketology projections with one regular-season game left
Clemson is closing in on the end of the regular season with momentum on its side. With a win at Boston College on Wednesday, the Tigers extended their strong run and now turn their focus to Senior Day against Virginia Tech.
A victory would mark their eighth straight in ACC play, setting a new program record. While their latest performance didn’t lead to major movement in rankings, NCAA Tournament projections continue to take shape.
USA TODAY Sports has Clemson as a No. 5 seed in the West Region, facing the winner of Xavier and Indiana in Seattle. Louisville is slotted as a No. 6 seed in the South, while Duke holds a No. 1 seed. ESPN’s Joe Lunardi also projects the Tigers as a No. 5 seed, ranking them No. 17 overall and placing them in the South Region against the winner of Boise State and Nebraska in Providence. His bracket has Duke as a No. 1 seed in the East and Louisville as a No. 6 seed in the Midwest. CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm sees Clemson slightly lower at a No. 6 seed in the West, where they would face Arkansas in Denver. His projections also place Louisville as a No. 7 seed against Baylor.
Though the Virginia Tech matchup may not shift Clemson’s tournament outlook, closing out the season with another win would further strengthen its postseason résumé. Strengthen the postseason résumé as the Tigers have an opportunity to make this the best season in program history.
