Clemson Gets Huge Ohio OL from Big Ten Country
Clemson has landed a commitment from one of its top offensive line targets, securing a massive win on the recruiting trail.
Four-star offensive tackle Adam Guthrie out of Miami Trace (Washington Court House, Ohio) announced his commitment to the Tigers on Friday afternoon, giving Clemson a major addition to its 2026 recruiting class.
The 6-foot-7, 300-pound lineman is ranked as the nation’s No. 20 offensive tackle and No. 243 overall prospect in the 2026 class, per the 247Sports Composite rankings. He has experience on both sides of the ball, playing as an offensive and defensive lineman, while also showcasing his athleticism on the basketball court.
Guthrie was already set to visit Clemson this weekend for the Elite Retreat, but he arrived even earlier, spending the entire week on campus after his high school basketball season ended. His previous visit to Death Valley came during the Tigers’ dominant win over NC State in September, an experience that left a lasting impression.
“It definitely blew my expectations out of the water,” Guthrie said of that trip. “Definitely liked my time there.”
Clemson offensive line coach Matt Luke made Guthrie a priority, visiting him three times during the contact period, with head coach Dabo Swinney also making an appearance. That persistence paid off, as Luke continues to reshape Clemson’s offensive line with elite talent.
After making his decision, Guthrie took to social media to celebrate his commitment, posting:

“Thanks Mom, Dad, and my big brother for everything you have done for me to be in this position. Thank you to the MT community and my coaches. Big thanks to @DJRSwework for not just helping with recruiting but also helping develop me to be a great OL.
Tiger Town man I am.”
Guthrie had been a top target for several major programs, including Penn State, Georgia, and Ohio State, but ultimately found everything he was looking for in Clemson.
“It’s amazing. I fell in love when I was on campus,” he said.
With his commitment locked in, the Tigers continue to build momentum in the 2026 class, adding another dominant presence to their future offensive line.
