Juwan Howard’s Son Jace Makes Inspiring Post After Second Career Big Ten Championship

The Michigan Wolverines won their first Big Ten Tournament Championship since 2018 on Sunday as they defeated the Wisconsin Badgers by a score of 59-53 in Indianapolis.

Coach Dusty May’s Wolverines were renowned all season long for their ability to mesh new players together in a system that brought May’s former team, the Florida Atlantic Owls, a trip to the Final Four in March of 2023.

On Sunday, Wolverines small forward Jace Howard, one of the few holdovers from his father Juwan’s era as head coach, took to social media to share his thoughts on five years of college and the rewards that came with them.

Howard first shared a simple trophy emoji, before stepping on his soapbox for a brief moment to share his thoughts on winning championships with the world.

Howard’s father’s team won the Big Ten regular season championship in 2021, the Wolverines’ last before Sunday’s tournament title.

“A winner is just a loser who tried one more time,” Howard wrote. “#ThoseWhoStay.”

Howard played just four minutes per game this season after playing 12.7 minutes per game last season with his father Juwan as coach.

He appeared in just five games with the Wolverines, but made his presence felt with steady veteran leadership, solid defense and strong rebounding skills when he did get on the court for Michigan.

Now, after all the hard work, he can finally call himself a two-time Big Ten champion.
