Flau’jae Johnson warming up on the court before the game for LSU
All signs are pointing to Flau’jae Johnson getting some minutes for the LSU Tigers tonight. Here are some clips of the star junior warming up with her teammates.
There was also this one.
If Flau’jae can play, it certainly will give the squad a lift in the paint. Aneesah Morrow is also expected to play. She had been in a walking boot after reaggravating a foot injury.
Ahead of matchup, against San Diego State, Flau’jae Johnson spoke about her message to the team as they look to make a long postseason run. “To be honest, it’s just like my message is everything is your fault. I think that’s the best way to take accountability, and I think that’s what we’re missing as a team. Like it’s always your fault. Find your fault in it, and that way we can fix it,” said Johnson.
Flau’jae continued, “when you try to learn how to lead a team, the first thing you’ve got to do is look in the mirror…So it’s like you’ve got to hold yourself accountable first. So I always try to tell them like it’s our fault. I know to get through this tournament it’s going to take everybody. Yeah, we’re the big three, but it’s going to take a big eight to get to where we want to go. I know this because of how hard the Elite Eight was last year. You look down the bench and you’re like, dang, we need one more, we need two more. You see what I’m saying? It’s just about like we need everybody. Everybody is important. We’ve got to be accountable about what we do off the court and on the court.”
Tipoff is scheduled for 9:15 p.m. CT from the PMAC in Baton Rouge.
