Drew Allar’s Girlfriend Posts 2-Word Message Before Notre Dame-Penn State
Penn State quarterback Drew Allar received a clear message from Nittany Lions offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki ahead of the Orange Bowl against Notre Dame.
“‘You prepare your [expletive] off for these kind of moments,'” he told the young quarterback. “‘Go out there and have fun. Trust yourself.’ Because he rehearses the plays like a pro. I know he wants to play pro football, and he rehearses the way a pro should, in terms of referencing calls, reads, getting players lined up the right way, all that kind of stuff, he does it at an extremely high level.”
The message came following Allar’s strong performance against the Boise State Broncos in the quarterfinal of the College Football Playoff that had draft analysts calling for him to change his mind about going back to Penn State for the 2025 season. Allar finished the game 13-of-25 for 171 yards and three touchdowns in a 31-14 win.
Now he’s set to face off against the Fighting Irish in the Orange Bowl. Right there with him every step of his college career has been girlfriend Emma Bush, who is in Miami before the big game on Thursday night.
Ahead of the game, Allar made it clear he’s competitive, but also understands how to balance that with being level-headed in key moments.
“I’m extremely competitive in everything that I do, and I want to win and I want to be perfect in everything that I do,” Allar said. “So it kind of stems from that, but I also had to be intentional about it, because there’s good times to show emotion like that, but there’s also bad times to show it. Playing quarterback, you definitely have to be cool, calm, collected.”
Notre Dame and Penn State kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
