Elliot Cadeau’s Michigan basketball commitment gets personal with swipe toward former ACC team

Elliot Cadeau became the latest transfer portal domino to fall Monday as he opted to take his talents from the ACC to the Big Ten to play for Dusty May and the defending Big Ten Tournament champion Michigan Wolverines after a stint at North Carolina.

Cadeau announced the news on his Instagram page, and it was eventually confirmed by multiple sources, including 247 Sports’ Dushawn London.

London’s one-on-one with Cadeau became interesting when discussing why he made such a drastic move while having two more college basketball seasons left.

“The [Michigan] coaching staff really believe in me and know what I can do,” Cadeau shared. “I want to play in an offense that best suits me and my abilities, with the correct players around me so we can all win.”

Luckily enough for Cadeau, there’s nothing but winning that he’ll have to focus on in Ann Arbor. The Wolverines finished the season 27-10, losing in the Sweet 16 to the SEC’s Auburn Tigers who find themselves one win away from a national title berth.

Regardless of whether Cadeau made the correct decision for his immediate future, playing for a team on the rise is definitely something to check off the list.

It’s up to Cadeau to live up to expectations next season.
