Reagan Johnson got ahead in the count 3-0 before Sam Gress battled to draw it full. Johnson had a good eye and took a ball to give Arkansas a one-out runner.
Raigan Kramer got ahead in the count 2-0, causing the Gamecocks to have a meeting in the circle. It was of no use, as Kramer drew a five-pitch walk.
Bri Ellis then stepped to the plate with one out and runners on first and second, and she was intentionally walked to load the bases for McDowell.
