ST. PAUL – The Minnesota Wild are expected to announce the signing of Declan Chisholm soon. The club re-signed the young defenseman to a one-year deal worth $1 million.
Chisholm, 24, was a very productive defender in the Winnipeg Jets organization but with their crowded blue line and limited injuries the Jets were forced to put Chisholm on waivers at the end of January. Minnesota claimed the young defenseman and watched him flourish with the team after some injuries of their own.
Declan Chisholm’s JFresh Hockey Card.JFresh HockeyAs you can see by his JFresh Hockey card, Chisholm is pretty offensive. He ranked as one of the better defenders when it came to finishing and on the power play. In his 29 games with the Wild, Chisholm recorded two goals and five points on the power play. He notched three goals and eight points with the Wild overall. The Wild are excited to see what Chisholm can do in a full season with the team next year. If he plays anything like he did last year, the waiver claim will look like an absolute steal.
